We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Senior Engineer to lead development, research, and analysis of mechanical systems for advanced aircraft. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced, research-oriented environment.
Responsibilities :
Own the design and analysis of the mechanical systems, mechanisms and components on a large cargo experimental or test aircraft.
Manage the functional and physical interfaces between the routing of hydraulic system and the vehicle.
Communicate information about design, requirements, and performance of the applicable systems between the design team, management, customer, subcontractors, and vendors.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or related STEM discipline) plus 7 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience).
Demonstrated experience in the design and analysis of mechanical systems, mechanisms and components on a large cargo experimental or test aircraft.
Experience with CATIA V5
Excellent written and communication skills.
Must be a U.S. Person.
Desired Requirements
Experience with prelim design of mechanical systems and components.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision on these tasks.
Experience designing and analyzing complex mechanisms.
Experience with system engineering processes or project management, including but not limited to requirements development, system safety analysis, and reliability analysis.

Duration : 4 months with extension anticipated

Fully Remote - acceptable, case-by-base

Does this position require a U.S. Person for purposes of Export Compliance : Yes
Will the contractor be expected to travel? If yes, how often and where : Yes. DC Area, every 3 months.
Will contractor need to be setup to access VPN? : Yes
