JOB TITLE : Software Engineer III - Aerospace

LOCATION : Manassas, VA

PAY RATE : $61-77 / hour

Job Details :

Contract Length : 12 months (opportunity for extension)

Summary :

Contribute to the development of next-generation autonomous aircraft, including projects like the Orion aircraft, AACUS autonomous helicopter, flying taxi, and solar plane.

Work independently on a multi-disciplinary team to test and perform V&V activities on flight / mission-critical software for autonomous systems.

Candidates should have strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, and a desire to take on new challenges.

Review system / software requirements to meet performance and testing standards

Collaborate with engineering teams to develop test strategies for software and hardware compatibility

Write test plans, execute integration / system-level testing, and create failure injection tests

Use Hardware-in-the-Loop simulators for critical timing interfaces

Report test results and identify risks

Required Skills :

B.S. degree in Aerospace, Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Understanding of Systems Engineering V&V model

Proficiency in Simulink and Model-Based Simulation Software

Experience with test platforms for complex HW / SW systems

Familiarity with UAS, Autonomous Vehicles, Navigation / Control, Flight Control, or Avionics Systems

Desired Skills :

SW development and verification experience

Knowledge of Model-Based Design / Model-Based Testing

Mathworks Simulink / Stateflow Auto-Coder Toolchain

Experience with Human Machine (HMI) Interactions
