Overview of the Role: We are seeking a passionate and creative dance instructor to join our dynamic team and inspire our youngest dancers, ages 2-6. As a vital part of our studio, you will foster a love of movement and self-expression in a supportive, engaging, and fun environment. This role focuses on teaching foundational dance techniques while nurturing confidence, creativity, and enthusiasm in our young students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven dance training in ballet, tap, jazz, or creative movement, with a strong understanding of early childhood development.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience teaching dance to children ages 2-6.
- A degree in dance, education, or a related field is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to connect with young children and their families.
- Creativity in lesson planning and the ability to adapt to the unique needs of each class.
- Strong organizational skills to manage class schedules and curriculum.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute to the positive culture of the studio.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plan and teach engaging and age-appropriate dance classes for children aged 2-6.
- Develop creative lesson plans that incorporate foundational dance techniques and foster imagination.
- Choreograph routines for recitals, showcases, and other studio events.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students and communicate progress to parents.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment in the studio at all times.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to maintain a cohesive studio culture.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and studio events as required.
Schedule and Availability:
- Part-time position with classes primarily held on weekday afternoons/evenings.
- Additional availability for rehearsals, recitals, and special events.
- Hours are Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's from 5:00-7:00pm.
