Suffield House Rehabilitation and Health Care Center is a 128-bed skilled nursing center that is seeking part-time Dietary Aides for the following schedules:
Part Time, 16-24 hours and Per Diem on 7am-3pm and 4pm-8pm!
Shift differential of $1.00 per hour is added for worked weekend hours.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education / Experience
- Interested in the Dietary needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with the elderly.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Fluent knowledge of the MSOffice Suite and other office equipment.
- Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position assignment.
Working Conditions: Works in a well-lighted and ventilated work area subject to temperature changes.
Physical Requirements:
- Stands approximately 95% of the workday. Includes bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, and twisting 60% of the day. Carries up to 50 lbs. daily. Pushes and pulls carts carrying equipment and supplies 25% of the workday. Performs repetitive movements throughout the workday. Works with potentially hazardous equipment which must be handled properly, i.e., knives, dish machine, blender.
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics/equipment that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Works with dietician and Food Service Manager to ensure that production sheets and menus are consistent.
2. Understands and complies with posted work schedules.
3. Prepares, portions, and serves appropriate and adequate amounts of food items, beverages, and desserts for meal service according to menu and prescribed therapeutic diets in a timely, safe, and sanitary manner.
4. Assists with preparation and production of vending par levels (entrees, snacks, beverages, and desserts).
5. Prepares and delivers nourishments at appropriate times according to procedure in a safe and sanitary manner.
6. Sets up trays and/or place settings according to prescribed therapeutic diets according to procedure in a timely, safe, and sanitary manner.
7. Assists with meal set up at mealtime according to the diet card, considering therapeutic diets, food preferences and consistencies to meet each resident's individual dietary needs.
8. Properly stores all food items and supplies according to procedure including the storage of chemicals.
9. Stocks all needed items in appropriate quantities for the proper functioning of the Dietary Department.
10. Prepares, washes, sanitizes, and properly handles dishes and utensils or pots, pans, and cooking utensils according to procedure in a timely, safe, and sanitary manner.
11. Properly operates, cleans, and sanitizes any equipment or carts utilized according to procedure in a safe and sanitary manner.
12. Cleans food service working area as assigned according to posted work and cleaning schedules. Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly work environment including trash removal and cleaning of trash receptacles.
13. Performs other related duties and attends meetings as may be deemed necessary by Supervisor / Administrator and or Director
