What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kosher Coordinator position at The Summit at Brighton?
Pay Rate: $28.00 hourly
Per Diem 15 hours
GENERAL SCOPE: To oversee all aspects of keeping high standard of kosher observance
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to read, write, add, subtract, communicate understandably in English and follow directions. Knowledgeable on all aspects required in maintaining a kosher kitchen environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Enforces kosher laws and regulations throughout the department, works closely with the Rabbi.
- Ensures all equipment, utensils and dishware are kept kosher, corrects problems as seen, re-koshers equipment as needed.
- Actively participates in helping koshering the kitchen, and the Jewish Home, Summit and Cottage #3 before the start of Passover.
- Helps train and teaches employees to follow Kosher Jewish Laws.
- Oversees receiving clerk to ensure foods are kosher in all Kosher kitchens
- Strong emphasis is placed on safety and sanitation via clean as you go policy.
- All other job duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: Must be knowledgeable of kosher laws.
