Summit School is an independent school located in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking coaches for our Varsity and JV volleyball teams made of 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. The coach will be responsible for practices, matches, and overall program management throughout the volleyball season. The season begins in August and ends in October.
Job Type: Part-time
Seasonal/Temporary
- Time commitment of 10-20 hours per week.
- Candidates must demonstrate a proven aptitude for coaching as illustrated by a strong work ethic and organizational skills.
- Maintain proper control and discipline in a positive manner by establishing good, wholesome rapport through healthy, professional relationships among students involved in our athletic programs.
- Plan and execute effective practices.
- Create and execute game strategy.
- Train and supervise assistant coaches in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.
- Establish and maintain open communication with parents/guardians, students, other coaches, and athletic administrators.
- Travel when necessary.
General Statement of Duties:
Position is responsible for coaching student athletes in volleyball techniques to prepare them for athletic competition and to motivate student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport. Qualified candidates encourage positive individual sportsmanship and team skills, and develop lifelong learning skills in each student athlete.
Qualifications
Previous experience playing the sport is essential and coaching experience is preferred.
