Duties and Responsibilities
Summit coaches are responsible for practices, matches, and overall program management throughout the coaching season. Communication and collaboration with parents, teachers, and student athletes is also a critical responsibility.
In addition to these responsibilities coaches must:

Analyze, demonstrate, and explain basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of their sport.

Instruct student-athletes in the safety practices for their sport.

Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.

Understand and implement all appropriate rules and regulations according to sport and conference specific guidelines.

Maintain proper control and discipline in a positive manner by establishing good, wholesome rapport through healthy, professional relationships among student athletes involved in our athletic programs.

Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate student-athletes' abilities initially and on a regular basis.

Instruct student-athletes in the proper care and use of materials and equipment.

Accompany and supervise student-athletes during athletic competitions during both home and away games.

Stay abreast of the latest advances in physical fitness education and coaching.

Ability to demonstrate the appropriate skills and techniques to be used by the students.

Ability to visually monitor students.

Ability to operate fitness equipment.

Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 25 lbs.), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving equipment/boxes (up to 25 lbs.)
