SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates activities of the production department in processing materials or manufacturing products within organization by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
● Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
● Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping within effective operations and cost factors.
● Revises production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure, operating problems, or order demands.
● Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
● Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
● Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and continuously improve product quality.
● Consults with maintenance personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
● Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
● Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
● With the Department Supervisors’ assistance, develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
● Resolves worker grievances.
● Complies, stores, and retrieves production data.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly manages one Assistant Production Supervisor, six Production Supervisors, and one Senior Production Supervisor who supervise in the Packaging, Cosmetics, Encapsulating, Tea, Envelope, Sunbreeze, Grinding, Liquid Fill, NuPuff, Softgel, and Formulation Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or a minimum of five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or owners of the company.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software. Oracle software is a plus.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet when working in a designated office, but when overseeing production line problems or whenever around production machinery the noise level in the work environment is usually loud, which is often during the course of the day.
