What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director position at The Sunshine School Inc.?
GENERAL DUTIES: The Director shall, in general, be responsible for the development and implementation of all service activities for meeting the educational, training, evaluation, treatment, and/or rehabilative needs of exceptional individuals referred to the Sunshine School of Searcy, Inc.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
A. STAFF
1. Upon prior approval of the Board of Directors to hire and fire staff members.
2. Supervise and counsel with staff members.
3. Conduct annual personnel review within guidelines established by the Board of Directors
4. Devise general job descriptions for each employee.
5. Oversee client review by staff members.
6. Upon absence of the Director, the Head teacher shall be in charge of the school. In the event that both the Director and the Head teacher are absent at the same time, which event should occur only in extraordinary circumstances, the director shall designate an individual to be in charge in their absence.
B. Recordkeeping and Reporting
1. Supervise preparation of and/or prepare all necessary reports as required by state or federal agencies.
2. Maintain filing system for all school records.
3. Ensure that all billings for services rendered are properly prepared and delivered to the paying agency on a current basis.
4. Become familiar with all federal and state regulations relative to funding standards and with Sunshine school accounting system and policies.
C. Physical Plant, Equipment and Grounds
1. Conduct annual review and inspection of building and equipment for purpose of isolating potential maintenance needs.
2. Oversee janitorial service work.
3. Insure proper maintenance of grounds.
D. Community Relations
1. To make presentations regarding Sunshine School upon request by community groups
2. Oversee news releases, social media posts, Sunshine school website, and on all major Sunshine School Activities
3. Prepare quarterly directors report covering financial affairs and summarizing such other information as from time to time shall be requested by the Board of Directors

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
