JOB SUMMARY:
The TCW Case Aide will provide clerical and administrative support to the Tribal Child Welfare program. This position will serve as an assistant to the TCW Caseworkers and Administrative Assistant, by; transporting clients as needed, supervising and monitoring visits for TCW clients, performing clerical tasks for Caseworkers in relation to client files, assisting with coordination and execution of department events and providing Caseworkers with back-up support as needed.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
To provide transportation for YINOC (Youth In Need of Care) clients and others for educational purposes, medical, dental appointments, visitation, alcohol and drug treatment, mental health treatment, and special activities.
Supervise and monitor visitation for YINOC clients and families.
Provide administrative support for TCW reception area as needed. To include answering telephone and in person inquiries as needed regarding program services, and contact with program staff.
Research and assist caseworkers and TCW staff with service referrals for YINOC clients.
Schedule appointments for TCW program clients. Conduct follow-up telephone contacts and assist staff with client resource needs.
Assist with filing case paperwork, archiving closed files, maintain highly confidential client files, determine case file needs and conduct periodic case file reviews.
Perform other duties including word processing, computer assisted file management services, requesting client documentation, copying, mailing and faxing confidential information.
Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of Tribal Child Welfare department events.
Assist in scheduling and coordinating TCW department vehicles for routine maintenance.
Other duties as designated by the Tribal Child Welfare Director that are within the scope of work.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
None
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma, or GED required.
Associates Degree is preferred but not required.
Minimum of two years’ experience of working with Tribal communities.
Experience working with children is desired.
Knowledge and work experience in an office environment, client related field.
Highly organized, self-starter, highly motivated, and reliable.
Capable of maintaining an extreme level of client confidentiality.
Must clear all background investigations and clearances required in working in a highly sensitive position.
Ability to begin work non-traditional work schedule. At times as early as 7:00am and/or evening hours or weekends as required.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License
Federal, State, Tribal Background check required

JOB CONDITIONS:
The principal job site shall be in the Administrative office at the Suquamish Tribal Center, Suquamish Village Square. The work environment is located in a general office setting, which would have appropriate lighting and heat, adequate ventilation and equipment necessary to the position. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, and reading. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate. There are a number of deadlines associated with this position, and employee must be able to handle frequent interruptions.
