The Certified Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in assisting physicians with surgical procedures in an Ambulatory Surgical Center setting. You will be responsible for monitoring the supply levels of all surgical instruments and ensuring their cleanliness and sterilization. Participation in staff meetings and performance improvement initiatives is also expected. You will work under the guidance and supervision of a physician or registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform scrub functions, selecting and handling instruments and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Assist operating physicians with essential surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and equipment for surgery.
- Maintain knowledge of surgical instruments, techniques, isolation techniques, and terminal cleaning procedures.
- Demonstrate technical surgical skills and contribute to a safe, efficient surgical environment.
