Job Duties: Orderly (Pre-Op & PACU)
- Patient Care Assistance:
- Assist nursing staff in transferring patients to and from stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to patients by ensuring a calm and organized environment.
- Room Preparation & Cleaning:
- Prepare pre-op and PACU bays with necessary equipment, supplies, and clean linens before patient arrival.
- Perform thorough cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas between cases and at the end of the day.
- Supply Management:
- Ensure proper stocking of supplies, linens, and equipment in pre-op and PACU areas.
- Restock carts and replenish items as needed throughout the day.
- Equipment Management:
- Transport and retrieve equipment as requested by clinical staff.
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned, disinfected, and stored appropriately.
- Communication & Support:
- Act as a liaison between the nursing staff and other departments to facilitate smooth patient care operations.
- Promptly respond to staff requests and maintain a cooperative attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all infection control and patient safety protocols, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with emergency situations as directed by clinical staff.
- Miscellaneous Tasks:
- Perform light clerical tasks, such as running errands or delivering lab samples, as needed.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of waiting areas and hallways.
- Provide assistance to other team members as directed to ensure efficient workflow.
