Position Summary:
The Surgical Institute of Central Florida is seeking a dedicated Operating Room Circulating Registered Nurse to join our team. The OR Circulating Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical environment. This role requires strong critical thinking, organizational skills, and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the patient advocate in the operating room, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Prepare and maintain the surgical environment, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Monitor and document patient status throughout the perioperative process within the SISI Complete EMR.
- Assist the surgical team by managing sterile fields, handling instruments, and maintaining accurate surgical counts.
- Coordinate with anesthesia providers and surgical team members to anticipate and respond to patient needs.
- Ensure compliance with infection control policies, regulatory standards, and best practices.
- Assist with inventory management to track and manage surgical supplies, including ordering, maintaining PAR levels, monitoring expiration dates, and maximizing cost efficiency.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning as needed.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida (required).
- Minimum 2 years of operating room circulating experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center (ASC) (preferred).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical procedures, and operating room protocols.
- Experience with inventory and materials management in a surgical setting is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a focus on patient safety and efficiency.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly pay: $36 - $47/hour (based on experience).
- Full-time position with a set schedule.
