Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). As a PACU Nurse, you will provide care for patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor patients' vital signs, assess their condition, and ensure their safe recovery. Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation
- Assess patients' condition and provide appropriate nursing interventions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Assist with patient admission and discharge processes
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions
- Perform physical examinations and provide wound care as needed
- Assist with catheterization, gastric lavage, and other procedures as required
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the recovery process
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arkansas
- Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery protocols and practices
- Proficient in conducting physical examinations and interpreting medical data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with discharge planning and patient education
- Familiarity with occupational health standards and infection control practices
- Knowledge of dementia care principles is a plus
