Salary: $85,000 - $110,000
About: The Surplus Line Association of California (SLA) operates as a private, 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization governed by a plan of operation approved by both the California Department of Insurance (CDI) and the SLA Board of Directors. Appointed by the Commissioner in 1994, the Association serves as the statutory surplus line advisory organization to the CDI and facilitates the state’s capacity to monitor and direct surplus line brokers’ placements of insurance with eligible surplus line insurers.
Working with its members and the CDI, the Association assists its members’ compliance with California laws and regulations; helps maintain a healthy, fair, and competitive surplus line marketplace in California; and strives to protect the interests of California insurance consumers.
Position Overview: We seek a qualified and motivated marketing professional to help develop and coordinate the organization-wide marketing efforts. This role is critical in bringing awareness of the association’s mission, member programs, educational offerings, and events to key stakeholders and the surplus line industry. This individual has a passion for marketing with a collaborative and creative spirit.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Manages the company’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all channels
- Develops and implements creative briefs and corporate marketing plans
- Directs and oversees day-to-day execution of marketing initiatives, managing timelines and providing clear communications to internal stakeholders and leadership
- Designs and implement campaigns working directly with internal and external subject matter experts
- Designs and implements marketing workflows to enhance team efficiency and productivity
- Research, analyzes, monitors, and evaluates data points to measure marketing efforts and adjust strategies as needed
- Ability to present in front of executive administration and board of directors
Qualifications:
- Must be a California resident.
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of experience as a marketing director or similar role
- Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of creative minds and business stakeholders
- An entrepreneurial spirit, solution-oriented and focused on getting things done amid ambiguity
- Knowledge of Adobe products
- Working knowledge of Salesforce, Account Engagement, Sprout Social, Asana
