The Swift Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Developer to join our technology-based program supporting a key Government customer. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in infrastructure automation, cloud-based services, and agile development methodologies. This position is located in the Herndon, VA area.
Key Responsibilities
Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Perform Eclipse developmental duties and utilize GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Work with DevOps tools and frameworks, specializing in Java and Python development.
- Conduct security reviews of applications and infrastructure to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in agile activities, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Research and implement new technologies in object-oriented programming to enhance software solutions.
- Develop and maintain cloud-based services to support scalable and reliable applications.
- Collaborate effectively with teammates of varying skill levels within an engineering team environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (preferred).
- Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in software development and infrastructure management.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Experience in Eclipse development, GitHub, and DevOps practices.
- Solid background in Java and Python programming languages.
- Demonstrated experience in security review processes for applications and infrastructure.
- 6 years of experience participating in agile development methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based services and deployment strategies.
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse engineering team.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
- Experience with infrastructure automation technologies like Docker, Vagrant, etc.
- Familiarity with build automation tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
- Proficiency in developing APIs and services using REST and SOAP protocols.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Perl and Shell scripting.
