Software Developer

The Swift Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Developer to join our technology-based program supporting a key Government customer. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in infrastructure automation, cloud-based services, and agile development methodologies. This role requires collaboration within an engineering team to deliver high-quality solutions.

This position is located in the Herndon, VA area.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Perform Eclipse developmental duties and utilize GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Work with DevOps tools and frameworks, specializing in Java and Python development.
• Conduct security reviews of applications and infrastructure to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Participate in agile activities, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Research and implement new technologies in object-oriented programming to enhance software solutions.
• Develop and maintain cloud-based services to support scalable and reliable applications.
• Collaborate effectively with teammates of varying skill levels within an engineering team environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (preferred).
• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in software development and infrastructure management.
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Experience in Eclipse development, GitHub, and DevOps practices.
• Solid background in Java and Python programming languages.
• Demonstrated experience in security review processes for applications and infrastructure.
• 6 years of experience participating in agile development methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based services and deployment strategies.
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse engineering team.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure automation technologies like Docker, Vagrant, etc.
• Familiarity with build automation tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
• Proficiency in developing APIs and services using REST and SOAP protocols.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Perl and Shell scripting.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
