What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Engineer position at The Swift Group?
The Swift Group is seeking an experienced Network Engineer (Firewalls) , particularly with expertise in CISCO, Palo Alto, and Juniper network devices and associated management software. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network security principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining and optimizing firewall infrastructure in support of a key government customer.
This position is located in the Herndon, VA area.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions utilizing CISCO, Palo Alto, and Juniper network devices.
- Perform configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of firewall policies and rules.
- Monitor network traffic for potential security threats and proactively address vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network security standards with business objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in network security and firewall technologies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients on firewall-related issues.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new firewall technologies and vendors.

AWS, Azure, Oracle, and Google Cloud, with a focus on extending on-premise networks to the cloud.
CCNA Security, CCNP Security, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), or equivalent industry-recognized credentials.

Pay Range : $49,996.80 - $290,004.00

Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to : level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
