Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all linens, towels, and garments are laundered, cleaned, and presented to the highest standards. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and quality of our hotel’s laundry services, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Launder and clean various types of fabrics including linens, towels, and uniforms using appropriate washing techniques.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Sort and categorize items for washing based on color, fabric type, and cleaning requirements.
- Perform dry cleaning tasks as needed, ensuring all items are treated according to their specific care instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness in the laundry area by regularly cleaning machines and surfaces.
- Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Fold, hang, or stack cleaned items neatly for distribution throughout the hotel.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while handling chemicals and equipment..
Requirements
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role within a hotel or similar environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of laundering techniques and fabric care is a plus.
- Ability to operate laundry machinery effectively and safely.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical stamina; must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when necessary.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely completion of laundry tasks.
