Position Overview
The Table Church is seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Administrative and Communications Assistant to support our co-lead pastors and ministry directors. This part-time role (20 hours/week) combines administrative coordination, communications support, and creative content development with a primary focus on two key areas:
- Communications Management - Crafting The Table Church’s social media presence, creating and maintaining email campaigns (Mailchimp), and executing internal and external comms.
- Congregational Relationship Management - Administering our church database and systems through Planning Center People.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a remote work environment while maintaining strong connections to our local church community.
Hours and Compensation
- 20 hours per week
- $25 per hour
- Remote work arrangement (must be local to DC metro area)
- Position begins May 2025
- Reports to: Co-Lead Pastor Team
Primary Responsibilities
Communications Management
- Design graphics and digital assets for church communications
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms
- Create, design, and schedule email campaigns through Mailchimp
- Develop and manage content for social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
- Reusing sermon videos to develop clips, carousels, and text threads
- Developing announcement graphics and posts
- Maintain and update the church website (Squarespace)
Congregational Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary administrator for Planning Center People, managing our church database
- Coordinate volunteer scheduling, worship planning, and giving platform through Planning Center
- Maintain accurate records and contact information for church members and visitors
- Track attendance and engagement metrics
- Support member connection and integration into church community
Additional Administrative Support
- Coordinate calendars, meetings, and schedules for church leadership and ministry teams
- Assist with budget tracking and expense management
- Attend weekly Tuesday coordination meetings with the pastoral team
- Follow up with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects
- Coordinate between internal ministry teams and external community partners
- Develop and maintain documentation in collaborative tools like Obsidian or Notion
Qualifications
- Alignment with The Table Church's mission, vision, and values

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Experience with or willingness to learn Planning Center (required)
- Proficiency with website management platforms (Squarespace preferred)
- Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp preferred)
- Familiarity with social media content creation and management
- Graphic design skills and experience with design applications
- Knowledge of collaborative documentation tools (Obsidian, Notion, or similar)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive church matters

Church Involvement Expectations
- Must be local to the DC area
- Required to attend at least one Sunday service per month (these 2 hours will be counted as part of the 20 paid weekly hours)
