Position: Medical Director
Reports To: Executive Director
Purpose: To provide consultation, medical and clinical services to all recipients.
POSITION RESPONSIBLITIES:
Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. The Psychiatrist is responsible for provide clinical consultation and provisioning of services to all recipients including, but not limited to:
- Oversee medical services to all recipients.
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director to monitor each individual’s clinical status and response to treatment.
- Assist in the overall supervision of staff delivery of clinical services.
- Direct all psycho-pharmacological and medical services for recipients.
- Responsible for the development of documentation for face-to-face consultation and clinical services, medication management services, and rationale for any reductions or increases in service and/or medication changes.
- Review and sign the initial and ongoing revisions of the Treatment Plans and clinical comprehensive assessments of recipients.
- Be available to participate in crisis intervention strategies of recipients.
- Provide DSM-V (or its successor) diagnoses, Axes I-V and/or denote medical necessity of services as required.
- Participate in team meetings as needed.
- Work collaboratively with and provide ongoing updates to the Executive Team and Clinical Director.
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director to monitor each individual’s clinical status and response to treatment.
- Provide learning opportunities, information, and resources to staff on how to accomplish goals in new, different and challenging ways.
- Listen/respond to; interact with clients, co-workers, management, and other professionals in a non-judgmental manner.
- Communicate objectively, thoroughly, accurately, concisely in a manner consistent with the cognitive level of the persons involved.
- Demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of the organizational mission and shared purpose to assist individuals by providing quality services.

- Assist with building a positive image for the agency by demonstrating support and cooperation with other units and community agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The Psychiatrist must be a licensed medical doctor (M.D. or D.O.) who is board-certified or board-eligible, authorized to practice psychiatry in Ohio and enrolled to participate in the Ohio Medicaid Program.
The Psychiatrist must have sufficient individual competence, professional qualifications and experience to provide service coordination; crisis assessment and intervention; symptom assessment and management; individual counseling and psychotherapy; medication prescription, administration, monitoring and documentation; substance abuse treatment; work-related services; activities of daily living services; social, interpersonal relationship and leisure-time activity services; support services or direct assistance to ensure that individuals obtain the basic necessities of daily life; and education, support, and consultation to individuals’ families and other major supports.
