# 1846 Business Intelligence Specialist Cloud Data Modernization Project
Overview:
We re looking to bring on a couple of skilled Business Intelligence (BI) contractors to support our internal team on a critical BI and Analytics project. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering reporting solutions, integrating ERP system data, and helping architect a next-generation cloud-based data environment. Candidates must be immediately available and capable of jumping into a fast-moving project with clear business impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and BI teams to deliver reporting and analytics solutions aligned with business needs.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports with clean, effective data visualizations.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to transform and analyze data.
- Work with data from ERP systems, integrating it into BI models for actionable insights.
- Assist with ETL processes, currently using Pentaho, with openness to transition tools as cloud architecture evolves.
- Help evaluate and design the future-state data infrastructure, including cloud platforms like Snowflake or SQL Server in the cloud.
- Contribute to architecture planning and performance tuning of the next-gen analytics platform.
Must-Have Skills:
- Proven experience with Power BI in a production environment.
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience using SQL Server, including both on-prem and cloud deployments.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Azure SQL.
- Familiarity with .NET environments (plus, not mandatory).
- Hands-on experience integrating and working with ERP system data.
- Knowledge of data integration and ETL tools, especially Pentaho (experience with others like Informatica, Talend, or Matillion is also valuable).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a consulting or contractor capacity.
Project Details:
- Immediate start required preference given to candidates who are ready to begin right away.
- Contract engagement for the initial phase of the project, with possibility for extension or longer-term direct hire/FTE.
