About the Company - The Talent Shop is hiring for an amazing restaurant that celebrates the heritage and traditions of fishing. An ethos that stems from our founding restaurant in Ballater, Scotland. It was created for those who enjoy freshly caught seafood which is ethically sourced.
Our newest location is on the waterfront at The Wharf, it is designed to cater to locals and residents of DC, alongside the many seasonal visitors. The restaurant will offer a modern and relaxed 280-seat venue. It will include a large bar, main dining room, seasonal outdoor terrace, and three private dining rooms, offering opportunity for unique and exciting experiences.
Responsibilities -

- Maintain confidential personnel database and files for the department in accordance with established guidelines and policies.
- Maintain and ensure compliance and integrity of HRIS data in cooperation with the People Team leaders and local teams.
- Manage posting job ads on applicant tracking systems and third-party posting sites while ensuring they are up to date and compliant to state laws.
- Partner with hiring managers in the vetting of resumes, applicant screenings, and stage scheduling and execution
- Ensuring the new hire process is smooth and timely: offer letters, onboarding, orientation, welcome packets, HRIS data entry, etc.
- Work with hiring managers in designing the new hire orientation process, ensure timely and proper execution
- Ensuring HRIS and communication platforms have the most updated policies, handbooks, SOPs, etc.
- Management of employment verification calls, letters, and requests.
- Learn our HR policies and practices to answer and/or refer to employee questions about Payroll, Benefits, Work/Life, Employee Perks, PTO, Company Policies, etc.
- Counsel and assist managers with Employee personnel issues and resolving them internally.
- Work with GM and Chef in the planning, scheduling, and execution of various training/education programs for staff
- File and monitor worker’s compensation claims status.
- Assist the People Director in calculating pay raises, strategic compensation packages, and annual budgets.
- Liaise locally with insurance brokers, manage benefit platform, administer open enrollment, and provide employee status updates
- Work with local management teams to organize training courses, assist with event planning, and build surveys.
- Manage with the support of the accounting team, completing and responding to unemployment and state benefit claims forms
- Collaborate with the People Team to develop content for monthly newsletters and other employee communications
- Partner with People Team members on supporting tools/systems and troubleshooting issues
- Off boarding: separation paperwork preparation, canceling benefits, COBRA administration
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years in a HR role
• Knowledge of job boards and HR processes/practices
• Experience with payroll administration
• Experience with onboarding and off-boarding
• Experience with conducting investigations
• Knowledge of District of Columbia and Federal labor laws
• Familiarity with employee benefits programs and associated compliance such as: ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, and workers' compensation.

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
