Job Summary
- Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements, and documents nursing care.
- Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
- Conducts various patient tests and administers medications within the registered nurse's scope of practice.
- Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
- Demonstrates reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Requirements/Eligibility
- Must have a minimum of one year of related work experience and be deemed competent.
- Requires current FL RN license.
- Must possess and maintain current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Seasonal RNs assigned to the Emergency Room or PACU must also hold PALS certification.
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications may be required.
- May need to float to other units as needed.
