Overview
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate Redstone Test Center’s (RTC’s) Mission Operations Control Center (MOCC) and other essential functions listed below.
- Operate Redstone Test Center’s (RTC’s) Mission Operations Control Center (MOCC).
- Coordinate and manage U.S. Army Garrison Redstone Arsenal (USAGR) Restricted Area R-2104 airspace, and deconflict flight operations with ranges/test areas ground operations that pose danger to flying aircraft, manned and unmanned.
- Employ the MOCC’s distributed sensors, video surveillance cameras, and visual displays; as well as communications mediums, digital messaging, and voice via radio and telephones in order to maintain real-time situational awareness of activities on the ground and in the air for all test areas, ranges, and Special Use Airspace (SUA).
- Continuously analyze and assess incoming information for dangerously incompatible activities, determine, decide, communicate, and direct others to deconflict dangerously incompatible activities.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of coordinating and managing flight operations within controlled airspace, and deconflicting flight operations with ground operations.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Air traffic control.
- Military or civil pilot.
- Military Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Group 2-5 pilot/operator of Basic UAS Qualification (BUQ) Level II or higher as defined by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Instruction (CJCSI) 3255.01, Change 1, Joint Unmanned Aircraft Systems Minimum Training Standards of 31 Oct 2011.
- Military installation combined air and ground training range control.
- Army aviation, safety, Test & Evaluation (T&E).

Necessary to perform the essential functions: able to see, hear, and speak; lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds; sit for extended time; and use a personal computer and typical peripheral devices.

WORK AUTHORIZATION / SECRET CLEARANCE
DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
