What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Teacher position at The Tatnall School?
The Tatnall School in Greenville, Delaware, is seeking Part-Time Early Childhood Teacher to work in our Extended Day Program.
The Early Childhood Teacher will provide after-school care to students in our Early Childhood program with ages ranging from 2-5years old. (PK2-PK4),
An Average Day
At the end of the school day, students are dismissed to Extended Day. The Extended Day team will greet students, distribute snacks, take attendance, and provide engaging activities to children until parents pick up. Students participate in gross-motor play, structured free play centers, and outdoor play during this time. The Early Childhood Teacher is creative in planning activities and games and provides supervision during that time to make sure students are playing well together and being safe.
Qualifications:
- Ability to supervise and direct students effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant experience working with children
- At least a high school diploma
- Possession of an Delaware Early Childhood Teacher certificate or willingness and credentials to obtain
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Ability to provide a negative TB test administered less than 1 year prior
- Current first aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 2:30-6:00pm. The actual departure time will depend on the number of students and the needs of the program. Additional hours may be available on non-school days such as federal holidays, in-service days, Winter Break, and Spring Break.
This position would start August 23rd and run through the length of the school year. There are opportunities to continue into the summer months as well if interested.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
