Lower School World Language Teacher

Tatnall seeks a Lower School World Language teacher. This is a part-time position reporting to the Head of the Lower School. The person fulfilling this position will teach Spanish in kindergarten through fourth grade and maintain Spanish in fifth grade while introducing students to the study of world languages as they prepare for Middle School. Qualified candidates should be fluent in Spanish and have experience teaching elementary school students.
Schedule
- Schedule will be created in partnership with Division Head and Candidate
- Approximately 20 hours per week
- Some additional time outside of these hours may be required with advanced notice to attend school events
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Fluent Spanish
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Experience teaching elementary aged students
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and community through culturally responsive teaching practices
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Plan, prepare, and teach Spanish (grades K - 4)
- Plan, prepare, and teach Introduction to World Languages using the Prima Lingua curriculum (grade 5)
- Build authentic relationships with students, families, and co-workers
- Evaluate student progress and complete report cards
- Work with Middle and Upper School World Language faculty to align curriculum
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with faculty, parents, and community members
- Integrate technology into the curriculum
- Participate in professional development and other teacher training workshops
