The Inventory Auditor reports directly to the Accountant at Taylor Power and indirectly to the Controller of TTG.
Job Responsibilities:
- The primary purpose of this position is to physically count samples of the actual inventory daily, reconciling with computer data and to determine reasons for variances.
- Daily reports will be provided to the Lead Inventory Auditor. The incumbent in this position may be required to perform additional duties related to maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Receives a daily statistical formulated computer printout of parts to be inventoried and will physically verify that all inventory on the printout is available and in its proper storage location. This will include new inventory, both purchased and manufactured, as well as work-in-process inventory.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with the Taylor system of part numberings, the sales order systems, and the work-in-process systems of the company.
- Must be capable of reading blueprints to identify parts and assemblies. If there are variances in the physical verification from that shown on Taylor records, the discrepancy must be investigated to determine the cause for the variances.
- Physically visiting various inventory storage locations and/or interfacing with departmental personnel within the company to identify, investigate, and reconcile the discrepancy.
- Make recommendations to supervisor for improvements in methods as noted.
- Assist with the monthly 5S audit process.
- Assist with other projects involving inventory as needed.
- Any other responsibilities assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven interpersonal skills.
- An aptitude for math is essential.
- Knowledge of the Taylor parts system would be extremely beneficial.
- Required to work in inclement weather at times.
- Will require travel to other Taylor locations
- Must be personable and able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing to gain the cooperation of others, while remaining focused on the end results which may require firmness and initiative in seeking out answers to discrepancies.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma preferred however GED or previous experience may substitute for educational requirement.
- Knowledge of the Taylor system of part numberings, the sales order systems and the work-in- process systems of the company would be extremely beneficial.
- Must be capable of reading blueprints to identify parts and assemblies.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills would be beneficial.
- Must be self-motivated and perform the job without constant supervision.
- Must be a team player and communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
- Firmness and initiative in seeking out answers to discrepancies.
- Must have a valid driver?s license and a good driving record. (Employee will be driving personal vehicles and will also be covered under corporate insurance which has strict coverage requirements.)
