What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Waitstaff position at The Tea Cart?
The Tea Cart is a traditional British tearoom serving fine English fare and curated loose teas. Our servers provide excellent guest services and deliver a friendly, professional approach to every service. The fine dining experience at our tearoom is tranquil, joyful, and one that is to be remembered. Our staff delivers a high level of enthusiasm and represents our business in a positive, upstanding way.
Position is approximately 5-25 hours a week including weekends, depending on reservations.
Server experience is not required, but customer service experience is a plus. Extensive training will be provided to the right candidate.
Available shifts: Thursday-Sunday
Responsibilities:
- Interact with guests of all ages
- Set up and clean-up of dining room and kitchen
- Menu and tea knowledge
- Food handling
- Serve food for regular service and special events including private parties and monthly teas
- Bus tables
- Wash/polish silverware, dishes, glasses
- Prepare service tickets
- Merchandise knowledge and cashier duties
- Restocking inventory
Specifications:
Required
- Serving experience a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Eligible to work in U.S.
- Ability to comfortably carry tea pots and handle fine china
- Warm and friendly demeanor with an enthusiasm to provide excellent service
- Interest in afternoon tea custom and the fine dining experience
- Flexible schedule
Preferred
- Banquet, event catering or restaurant service experience
- Desire to grow with our company
- Customer service experiences and strong social skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $2.13 per hour tips (As a fine dining establishment, there is GREAT tip potential!)
