Facilitated Experiences Supervisor I
The Facilitated Experiences Supervisor I will be primarily responsible for supervising the team of Educators, interns, and volunteers who deliver engaging, interactive gallery experiences including floor programs and facilitation of exhibits. They will support the team of Educators in continuously improving their facilitation skills by providing frequent observation and evaluation. This role will also fill in for staff breaks and lunches and assist in training staff members and volunteers. This non-exempt (hourly) role reports to the Senior Manager, Facilitated Experiences. This is a full-time position eligible for benefits.
Responsibilities
- Provide floor management and supervision on a daily basis. This includes working closely with Facilitated Experiences Supervisor II to maintain appropriate staffing levels for both the Interactive floor and all facilitated programs.
- Use on-going staff observations to inform the development and implementation of proper facilitation techniques in collaboration with Facilitated Experiences management.
- Maintain accurate training records for all Educator staff and volunteers. May be required to assist in training of new staff and volunteers as needed.
- Provide feedback on continuous improvement of The Tech's educational programs, including science lab programs, innovation lab programs, and other facilitated experiences.
- Participate in training sessions to build and maintain facilitation and engagement skills.
- Maintain Gallery Experiences inventory and request inventory orders when needed.
- Maintain current knowledge about The Tech's educational programs, membership options, special events and other visitor-related information.
- Report non-functioning exhibits, electronics, or lighting to the Engineering and Facilities staff in a timely manner.
- Fill in as an Educator as needed. This includes leading experiences with all guests in Innovation Labs and / or our most open-ended program spaces using our Design Challenge Learning facilitation style.
- Complete additional related tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor / manager.
