Position Overview
The Vice President of STEM Innovation and Partnerships will oversee our local, regional and global Tech Challenge (engineering design challenge) programs; education resources and educator training; and our emerging STEM career pathways work, including our STEMbassador program. This position is also responsible for identifying and executing on opportunities across these existing STEM education programs and products for sustainable growth into new markets (regional, state, national and/or global). This role will work in unison with the CEO in offering strategic, forward thinking and visionary ideas towards the ongoing stability, growth and future of The Tech. Opportunities in the future will also likely arise to consider expansion opportunities for other STEM education products and programs that The Tech offers. This exempt position reports to the President.

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor teams that manage the following areas: 1) local, regional, national and global Tech Challenge (engineering design challenge) programs, 2) education resources and educator training, and 3) emerging STEM career pathways work, including our STEMbassadors program.
- Lead strategy to package existing resources and programs that align with the needs of new and existing audiences locally, regionally, nationally and globally with an eye towards long term sustainability.
- Oversee an inclusive approach to research and development (R&D) of new products and enhancements to existing products and programs.
- Define and prioritize the overall product vision and management strategy that rolls up to the organization's strategic objectives. This includes operating procedures, product roadmaps, pricing, and competitive positioning.
- Identify new partnership opportunities for growth and scale while maintaining and growing existing partnerships.
- Conduct market research to identify audience needs and emerging industry trends that align with the mission of The Tech to create problem solvers and to inspire the innovator in everyone.
- Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product performance and inform future development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, exhibits, facilitated experiences and visitor services to ensure successful product launches and market adoption.
- Excite potential donors with an inspiring vision of expanding our impact locally, nationally and globally.
- Complete additional related tasks or duties as assigned by the CEO.
- At least 7 years proven experience leading teams to develop and expand STEM education products into new growth markets. Experience with national and global markets is preferred, as is some nonprofit experience.
- Experience with museums, science centers, informal learning institutions or community-based organizations is a plus.
- The ability to manage complex projects in a deadline-driven and high-achieving environment, valuing resourcefulness, collaboration, flexibility, creativity, entrepreneurialism, enthusiasm, and patience.
- Dynamic leader with the ability to positively interact with peers in a collaborative environment. Ability to embrace feedback and incorporate into planning and strategies as appropriate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal collaboration and external stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated mission-alignment around expanding access to STEM learning opportunities.
- Some fundraising experience is a plus.
- This is an onsite position with the possibility of flexibility for working some days at an alternative work location. Flexibility will vary depending on the needs of the job.
- This role will likely involve both domestic and international travel.
