What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior OPIR Mission Engineer position at The Tech7 Company?
Tech7 is looking for a Senior OPIR Mission Engineer to join our team to support a critical space mission. This is an in-person role located in El Segundo, CA.
Our team builds and maintains a powerful Modeling & Simulation platform enabling teammates to address challenging real-world problems for the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission by evaluating current and future system performance. We work directly with both system manufacturers and operational users to design, develop, and maintain capabilities that empower decision makers to create actionable intelligence from OPIR data to give our intel and combat organizations the decision advantage over our near-peer adversaries.
Specifically, our team is looking for a Senior EO / IR Mission Engineer to support system modeling of multiple sensors from aperture to product generation ensuring the end user can take full advantage of system capabilities. Sometimes called Image Chain Analysis (ICA), this position requires a senior engineer to support a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled physicists, engineers and mathematicians to model overall system performance and utility. Modeling efforts will include improving existing system capabilities and evaluating next generation system performance.
