Certified Professional Coder - Direct Hire
Salary - $43,680 - $54,080
Hours - M-F 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Role and Responsibilities
The Certified Professional Coder (CPC or CPC-A) is responsible to provide quality review and analysis of a wide range of patient medical records and ensure accuracy of coding and maintain records in accordance with accepted medical and legal standards. Responsible for reviewing medical records to assure proper billing of the medical record, comparison of physician chosen CPT and ICD-10 codes to the physicians' documentation, creating the charge post with appropriate modifiers.
Complete random audit reviews on E&M’s coding to maintain accuracy on the level of decision making for each cpt code was achieved, report findings back to management to conduct continue education with the providers. Ensure all records have been signed by the preforming provider in a timely manner, prior to charge posting. Assist staff with diagnosis issues and help identify claim denials directly related to coding denials.
The position will also perform light administrative duties and any other tasks as assigned by the Revenue Cycle Manger.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum two years’ experience in Medical Billing related field required.Certified Professional Coder or Apprentice (CPC or CPC-A)
Knowledge of LCD and NCD policies
Preferred Skills
- Computer skills including web browsing, excel, and EMR software
- Excellent people skills: ability to work independently and as a team member
- Understanding of HIPPA regulations, respect for patient confidentiality
- Efficiency and attention to detail is a must
