Tenants Law Firm is a fast-growing, mission-driven organization dedicated to advocating for tenants’ rights and providing legal support against unlawful housing practices. We work to ensure that individuals and families have access to safe and stable housing through legal representation. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Social Worker/Advocate to oversee and manage client cases from intake to resolution. The Case Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring timely updates, managing case files, and coordinating with attorneys and legal staff. The ideal candidate is proactive, compassionate, and skilled at handling multiple cases efficiently.
This position is IN-PERSON, FULL-TIME and IMMEDIATE start
Key Responsibilities:
- Support client's in cases, ensuring all deadlines, filings, and case-related tasks are completed in a timely manner while advocating for the wellbeing of our clients
- Social workers will provide emotional support and referrals to resources for clients, helping them navigate the legal process and address any social or emotional barriers that may present themselves
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of case progress and addressing inquiries.
- Assist attorneys with correspondence.
- Organize case-related documents, including evidence, client records, and legal forms.
- Coordinate with relevant external parties when necessary.
- Schedule and track court dates, depositions, and client meetings for the holistic support of clients.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards when handling client information.
- Support attorneys in trial preparation, settlement negotiations, and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in case management, legal support, or a related role in a law firm.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of legal procedures (preferred).
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive legal matters with professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
- Bilingual in Spanish
