Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Advising, the Adult Success Coach is responsible for monitoring, advising, registering, and coaching a caseload of nontraditional students to support academic success.
Job Duties
- Provide proactive and individualized coaching for the assigned student population, leveraging social media and other digital communications to check in with students regularly and remind them of key deadlines and other important information
- Facilitate student recruitment, enrollment, and retention
- Provide academic advisement and registration assistance to assigned student population
- Assist students with academic planning for timely degree completion
- Assist students in accessing resources for academic, financial, and / or personal support
- Maintain a flexible schedule for student appointments, to include evening hours as needed
- Collaborate with faculty, student success, and academic support staff on the delivery of support services
- Promote visibility of coaching services through outreach to students and faculty
- Collaborate on individual student success strategies
- Supervise grant-funded mentors and assist them in developing strategies for mentee engagement
- Maintain appropriate grant records following grantor agency guidelines and State of Tennessee records retention requirements
- Collect and analyze grant project data
- Prepare institutional and grantor agency reports as required
- Participate in cross-training with other staff within the Student Success Division as appropriate
- Complete other assignments as directed by supervision
