The HR Generalist is an integral position that is responsible for assisting with the daily functions of the Human Resources department while displaying a sincere desire to serve the Credit Union employees.
Day-to-day job responsibilities include the following:
- Lead recruitment efforts to include posting open positions, reviewing applicant qualifications, conducting phone interviews and in-person interviews.
- Complete new hire documentation including creation of offer letters, order and review background screens and completion of onboarding documents.
- Maintain employee electronic and physical files.
- Assist the Benefits & Payroll Manager with maintaining employee data including benefits, new hire enrollment, open enrollment, employee termination, COBRA administration and retirement.
- Foster positive employee relations and communications and address employee concerns in a timely and thorough manner.
This position is fully onsite and located at our Main Office at 1400 8th Ave. S in Nashville, TN.
Office hours are 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work with minimal direction.
- Ability to use cognitive skills for sound decision making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English).
- Excellent organization skills: ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize duties and meet deadlines.
- Above-average interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Above-average skills working with computer applications and working with multiple programs and platforms; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
- Thorough knowledge and application of employment law and regulations.
To be hired for this position, candidates must have an acceptable credit history. TENCU will run a credit report prior to employment. Good credit history is considered an essential element for this position. In addition, the candidate must pass a substance screening and background check.
Education and Experience
- Four-year college degree preferred with an emphasis in Human Resources, Business, Accounting or English.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in human resources required.
- Experience using an ATS required.
- Experience with payroll and HRIS systems preferred.

Compensation: This is a non-exempt position with an hourly range of $24-$27.88 per hour, equivalent to $50K-$58K annually.
