RIS PACS Support Analyst (Remote, Contract)

Are you a highly skilled and committed RIS PACS Support Analyst ready to take on an exciting opportunity for growth and impact? Our client, a prominent healthcare provider, is seeking a RIS PACS Support Analyst (remote, contract) who will be responsible for providing system support to radiology end-users, including radiology staff, radiologists, physicians and other stakeholders.

Your primary tasks will involve troubleshooting and resolving system issues related to the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). The role will encompass both Level 1 and Level 2 support, as well as proper documentation of issues and resolutions. This remote position may require some travel to client sites as needed.

Position Description :

  • Provide technical support to radiology users, including radiology staff, radiologists, physicians and other key stakeholders, ensuring seamless system functionality.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve RIS and PACS system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to workflow and patient care.
  • Address and resolve Level 1 and Level 2 support requests, either remotely or via travel to client locations as needed.
  • Document support activities and troubleshooting steps in the ticketing system, ensuring accurate records of issues, solutions, and follow-up actions.
  • Work closely with internal IT teams and vendors to escalate and resolve more complex issues that require higher-level expertise.
  • Provide end-user training and guidance on system usage, best practices, and troubleshooting common issues.
  • Collaborate with Radiology leadership and other d epartments to ensure system integration and optimization for clinical and operational needs.
  • Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and proactively recommend improvements.
  • Assist in system upgrades, implementations, and configuration changes as needed.
  • Stay current on updates, patches, and enhancements to RIS / PACS systems, ensuring timely implementation and testing.

Requirements :

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills with a deep understanding of PACS, RIS, and medical imaging system workflows.
  • Experience with system integration, networking, and database management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with end-users and IT teams effectively.
  • Ability to provide clear documentation of technical issues and resolutions.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to assist non-technical users in understanding complex issues.
  • Ability to provide training and hands-on support during and after system implementations.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Desired Skills :

  • Familiarity with HL7, DICOM, and other healthcare communication standards.
  • Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) such as McKesson, Cerner, GE Centricity etc.
  • Experience with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) like Philips, Fuji, Siemens etc.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare IT security best practices.
