We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Highway Construction Inspector to join our Transportation team in West Virginia. We have positions available in the Mid-Atlantic region including Ohio, Northern, Mid and Southern West Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of highway construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications, and maintaining high standards of workmanship. Key Responsibilities:
- Be familiar with WVDOH Change of Order Operations
- CPM Schedules Reviewer
- Prepare daily field reports
- Monitor the progress of construction projects and provide regular updates to project managers.
- Provide inspection for various roadways, construction, and renovation projects as well as monitoring road conditions, bridges, traffic, and materials.
- Read and interpret construction plans and project specifications
- Inspect the materials and installation methods in accordance with the approved plans and specifications.
- Identify and report any deviations from plans or specifications to project managers.
Qualifications:
- Must have certified, or the ability to obtain, WVDOT TRET Level certification.
- Possess the ability to lead a team and delegate duties.
- Have, or possess the ability to obtain, WVDOT Certifications such as, but not limited to, WVDOT Project Inspector, Soil Compaction, Asphalt Testing, Soils and Aggregate Inspection, Flexible Pavement, and Traffic Zone.
- ACI Concrete Field Inspector is highly desired.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience working on large-scale highway construction projects is preferred.
- The ability to use construction-related software, such as Bluebeam and AASHTOWare (AWP), is highly desired.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
