We are a leading mental health organization serving children and adults and are seeking a highly experienced Mental Health Biller with 7 years experience to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring seamless billing operations, accurate insurance claims processing, and effective reimbursement for services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and submit insurance claims using appropriate CPT codes, modifiers, and billing guidelines.
- Collaborate with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to ensure proper reimbursement rates and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor and track client payments, insurance claim statuses, and account balances.
- Review and verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements for clients.
- Assist with maintaining and organizing medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Communicate with insurance companies and clients to resolve billing issues efficiently.
- Generate detailed reports to track billing performance and revenue cycle metrics.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in mental health billing, with extensive knowledge of CPT codes and modifiers.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with MCOs, insurance reimbursement processes, NJ Medicaid regulations, and electronic billing systems.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, and proficiency in tracking financial transactions.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with billing software and medical record systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with clients, insurance providers, and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CMRS).
- Previous experience in mental health or behavioral health settings.
- Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance guidelines.
- Credentialing and rate negotiation experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
Schedule: Daily claims submissions, Monday to Friday
Work Location: Hybrid: 4 days remote 1-day in-office (Camden County, NJ)
