- Create and execute plans to develop new business as well as support the legacy business within the water industry.
- Develop and maintain positive customer relationships through regular face-to-face customer interactions by planning and scheduling customer visits to timely assess needs, to follow-up, and to convert customer opportunities into profitable sales.
- Provide direction for all TPS brands related to existing product sales, market share increase, sales and product promotions, collateral materials, trade shows, marketing communications, and services development.
- Contractual input into bid preparation and support, collaboration, and cooperation with the proposals team for successful bid submission.
- Meet company key performance objectives for sales, profitability, safety, and quality.
- Perform all aspects of the sales function to the highest level of professionalism.
- Build customer confidence in the ability of the company to meet their needs by applying good problem-solving skills and persuasive sales techniques to gain customer confidence.
- Have an established in-depth knowledge of customers and markets within assigned territory.
- Visit customer sites and perform informal, preliminary equipment surveys as required.
- Provide direct liaison support to Field Service and assist in resolution of Field Service problems when required.
- Accountable for accurate sales call reporting, quotation follow up and closing transactions in a timely manner.
- Accountable for timely submitting of required reports, including, but not limited to; weekly expense reports, weekly call reports, monthly activity reports, target account planning, as well as weekly itinerary
- Flexibility to meet sometimes- demanding travel requirements and spend significant time making customer visits within the assigned territory. May require overnight travel.
- Exhibit personal confidence and professionalism in all business processes.
- Ability to build customer confidence in the ability of the company and you to meet their needs.
- Willing to travel at least 50% of the time.
- Have an established in-depth knowledge of water industry, Flood control, wastewater, municipalities, water OEM’s.
- Possess or gain comprehensive knowledge of the company’s water capabilities, services, and products, as well as the water management industry as a whole.
- Ability to manage time and priorities for maximum efficiency with available resources.
- Demonstrated ability to perform within a team environment as well as possess the ability to take charge and work independently when required and possess the ability to interact with all levels of customers, vendors and internal TPS network teams.
- Knowledge of company product offerings and their related prime market applications and aftermarket potential.
- Ability to assess and analyze the territory market needs and customer base to create an effective market plan. Must be able to gain intimate knowledge of customers, projects and strategies and be held accountable for it.
- Ablility to manage time and priorities for maximum efficiency and sales effectiveness with the available resources.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work on short lead times, and handle high stress situations.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
- 7 years experience in industrial sales with a focus on the water market.
- General knowledge in the water industry as well as strong sales background.
- Strong computer skills, primary focus on MS Outlook, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CRM software.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- High Degree of accuracy and professionalism.
- Exhibit honesty and integrity in all aspects of work.
- Possess good problem-solving skills with the ability to utilize persuasive sales techniques to gain customer confidence.
