Abstracter - Fairmont and Jackson, MN
The Title Team is excited to be seeking a Searcher/Typist/Abstractor. The successful candidate will work between our Fairmont and Jackson offices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Searching the public record and historic data and abstracting information essential to determining land titles and encumbrances, restrictions and covenants.
- Gathering and documenting the chain of title for parcels of land.
- Preparing various types of title reports.
- Examine documentation such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements in order to verify factors such as properties' legal descriptions, ownership, or restrictions
- Confer with realtors, lending institution personnel, buyers, sellers, contractors, surveyors, attorneys and courthouse personnel in order to exchange title-related information or to resolve problems
Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong typing/keyboarding skills.
- Reliable and detail-oriented.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with land documents and land title is preferred.
- Responsible for researching property records and preparing documents and information for real estate transactions
- Provide a high level of customer service, including the building of strong relationships with our customers and colleagues
- Experience in the real estate, title, or banking fields a plus, but not required
