HOST/HOSTESS

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and wipe.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move around at a brisk pace.
- Must be able to work well under stress and exercise good judgment when dealing with guest problems and complaints.
- Must be able to work on time in a company approved uniform.
- Must maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Must actively participate in daily Huddles.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and be a customer service champion.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other team members.
- Must follow proper food handling, safety, sanitation, and cleaning standards per The Toasted Yolk Food Safety & Sanitation Manual.
- Must be knowledgeable of menu items, food quality standards, promotions, and daily specials.
- Must be knowledgeable of Food-to-Go procedures and be able to accurately package Food-to-Go orders.
- Must be able to work as a team with all staff and Management.
- May be required to assist and/or give breaks in other departments.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Refers to Daily Schedule for shift responsibilities.
- Responsible for providing leadership, coaching, and direction to Waitstaff.
- At beginning of shift, perform walk thru inspection of the dining room to ensure areas are correctly set up for service.
- Prepares Floor Map and Waiter/Waitress listing and obtains approval from Management before posting. Directs Waitstaff to preview the Floor Map & Waiter/Waitress Listing for station assignment, pre-shift prep assignments and post-shift clean-up assignments.
- During “game time”, continual travel thru out the dining room to ensure total guest satisfaction.
- Assist with the transition to the mid-shift (if applicable). Assists in breaking employees as directed by the manager on duty, re-assigning stations as needed to completely cover dining room during break periods.
- Greets guests in a timely and friendly manner.
- Fulfils guest needs and assists with special requests. Checks frequently with tables to ensure excellence in food and service.
- Handles guest concerns and complaints properly and in a calm, professional manner using LAST (Listen, Apologize, Solve, and Thank) approach.
- Ensures that our guest have a great dining experience every time they visit by following the GOLDEN Rules of service:

- O Offer suggestions and assistance to our guests
- L Leave a great impression on your guests
- D Deliver food that is hot, fresh and delicious
- E Ensure that everything is clean and organized
- N Never leave a guest unhappy-Do what it takes to make it right!
- Communicates with Management on any guest comments on complaints.
- Ensures 30 minutes Bathroom cleaning procedures are being performed.
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring Waitstaff compliance with all company procedures and guidelines.
- Monitors shift close-out by Waitstaff & checks all server stations using the close-out checklist.
- Effectively communicates product, equipment, or operational issues to Management in a timely manner.
- Washes hands frequently..
- Assist Management in any way that is conducive to the efficient operation of the cafeteria.
- Follows Daily Departmental Closing Procedures and checks with Management before leaving.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
