About the Role:
The Simulation Engineer will play a crucial part in our product development process, using computational simulations to guide the design of mechanical and electronic products for EMC regulatory compliance. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for simulation-driven design improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute simulation plans to optimize product design, leveraging commercial software tools such as ANSYS Electronics Suite and Linux.
- Mentor junior engineers in simulation methods and results interpretation, ensuring knowledge sharing and expertise growth within the team.
- Collaborate with design teams, test engineers, and technicians to understand product behavior and develop effective simulation conditions.
- Partner with test engineers to develop test strategies, confirming simulation results, and emulating customer requirements.
- Quickly respond to unexpected design issues or in-production failures, utilizing simulation expertise to resolve problems.
- Stay up-to-date with new simulation techniques, technological developments, and competitive environments affecting design processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited program.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field from a university with an ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering program is desirable.
- Experience in EMC testing, analysis, and/or simulation; job grade determined by experience level.
- Demonstrated understanding of EMC design theory, including shielding, filtering, grounding, bonding, cabling, waveguides, and printed circuit board design.
- Good understanding of and experience using RF test equipment such as network analyzers and EMI receivers.
- Military RF experience is a plus.
