**Job Description:**
We are seeking a Technical Engineering Lead to join our team at The Toro Company. In this role, you will be responsible for researching and designing components and mechanical systems for Ditch Witch products.
About the Role:**
You will use CAD software to create or modify model files of machine components and systems, working closely with component suppliers and other engineers with mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic responsibilities. You will also direct the work of drafter/illustrators, layout personnel, and technicians, as well as perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:**
- Analyze product specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that provide a good balance of performance, functionality, cost, and ease of manufacture.
- Direct and participate in the construction and testing of prototypes to evaluate design and functionality.
- Solicit and evaluate input from various sources concerning product design and functionality to meet project and customer requirements and manufacturability of product designs.
- Review product design for compliance with standard engineering practices, company and industry standards, customer contact requirements, and related specifications.
- Create, maintain, and direct the creation/maintenance of essential design information and documentation, including models, drafts, schematics, and purchased part documentation, as well as supporting technical publications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related engineering field.
- Experience with CAD software and solid modeling.
- Interest in mobile equipment design and operation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, high degree of personal and professional integrity.
- Strong process orientation and drive for continuous improvement.
