Job Description
The successful candidate will perform mechanical work building machinery using various hand and power tools, including wrenches, hammers, impact tools, etc. This involves working with mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems on machinery.
This employee performs other duties as assigned. Key responsibilities include:
- Reading information from blueprints, drawings, production records, written instructions, technical documents, etc.
- Fitting, positioning, and fastening components to build machinery or sub-assemblies of machinery using vises, clamps, wrenches, air-powered tools, pliers, etc.
- Handling components and completed pieces of equipment, including operating equipment to move it and check its functions by using steering wheels, control levers, knobs, buttons, etc. while observing and evaluating equipment functions.
- Using a computer to check the location, inventory, and routing of parts.
- Recording information electronically.
