Assistant Town Manager

The Town of Batesburg-Leesville is seeking an innovative, energetic municipal professional to serve as the
Assistant Town Manager. Located along the Lexington and Saluda County boarders in the midlands of South
Carolina the Town of Batesburg-Leesville has a population of 5,251 (2020 census). The Town of Batesburg-
Leesville operates under a Council-Manager form of government.

Job Duties

• Assists the Town Manager in overseeing the Town’s daily operations and assists with oversight of all

departments.

• Works with the Town Manager to develop, plan, implement, and coordinate various town functions;

performs project management, strategic planning and budget development and administration functions.

• Assists in coordinating the activities of the town government with regional jurisdictions and state and

federal agencies.

• Works with and provides guidance to department heads to implement policies set forth by Town Council.

Monitors staff performance through established evaluation systems, ensuring accountability and adherence
to performance standards.

• Performs duties of the Town Manager in his or her absence as assigned.
  

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Finance,

a similar leadership role or combination of education and work experience. Experience as a Manager or
Assistant Town Manager (Preferred). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be
considered.

• Knowledge of local government operations, policies, and regulations.

Salary Information
Salary range based on qualifications, medical, vision, dental, life insurance, annual leave, paid sick leave, and SC
State Retirement.
