SUMMARY - Randomly patrols within one of two designated “Zones” as assigned by the Parking Manager. Utilizes either a vehicle and vehicle-mounted License Plate Recognition unit, or a handheld License Plate recognition unit, to assist in identifying vehicles parked in violation of Town parking rules. Issues warnings and/or citations for parking violations in accordance with Town parking rules and Division policies and procedures.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.o Is responsible for checking out, checking in, and accounting for inventory of enforcement equipment, and monitors its condition for repair or replacement needs for communication to the Lead Parking Enforcement Officer and/or the Parking Manager.o Monitors condition of parking facilities and equipment for maintenance, repair, and restocking needs, for communication to the Lead Parking Enforcement Officer and/or Parking Manager.o Randomly patrols within one of two designated “zones” as assigned by the Parking Manager.o Utilizes either a vehicle and vehicle-mounted License Plate Recognition unit, or a handheld License Plate Recognition unit to assist in identifying vehicles parked in violation of Town parking rules.o Is responsible for proper use, care, security, and safe return of the enforcement equipment issued for each shift.o Issues warnings and/or citations in accordance with Town parking rules and Division policies and procedures.o Provides occasional customer service assistance, when requested, for the proper use of parking kiosks.o Makes careful reports of any vehicle accident, injury, or confrontation incidents.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to speak, read, and write to communicate effectively in English. Ability to complete basic information forms (on paper or electronically) with accuracy. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as sums and differences. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and apply standard rules, laws, policies, and procedures to unique circumstances. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
