Fire Captain Job Announcement
The Town of Pine Knoll Shores is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Captain to join our Fire/EMS Department.
Position Overview
This leadership role is responsible for supervising fire and emergency personnel, ensuring the safety of the community, and ensuring the safety of the community, and maintaining the highest standards of service.
Key Responsibilities
*Supervise and lead fire personnel during emergency and non-emergency operations.
*Oversee daily station activities, training programs, and personnel development.
*Ensure compliance with department policies, safety regulations, and fire codes.
*Respond to fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous situations, making critical decisions under pressure.
*Maintain department equipment, conduct inspections, and support fire prevention efforts.
*Assist in administrative tasks such as report writing, budgeting, and scheduling.
Minimum Qualifications
*Associate’s degree and/or Minimum of 5 years of fire service experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*Knowledge of modern firefighting techniques, EMS practices, and incident management systems
*NC EMT Basic/EMT Paramedic
*NC Firefighter I & II, Driver Operator/Pump & Aerials, Fire Officer I & II
*Ability to pass a NC Fire Brigade Medical Examination

Fire/EMT – Basic Captain Salary Range $68,924-$98,462
Fire/EMT – Paramedic Captain Salary Range $71,610-$102,300
