Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our Highway Department Team as a part time or seasonal laborer. This role is essential in supporting various projects and tasks across our operations. As a Laborer, you will complete hands-on, physical work that contributes to the overall success of our projects and day to day operations while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Duties
- Operate various types of equipment, including town vehicles.
- Perform general maintenance tasks on town highways and in the shop.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to complete tasks effectively.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools as needed.
- Support other staff in their duties, providing assistance where necessary.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills.
Requirements
- Applicant must be atleast 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50 pounds) and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Valid Drivers Licence is required, a CDL is a .
- Previous experience in road work or manual labor is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
