What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at The Train Shed at Union Station?
Located in the heart of Union Station, we proudly provide our guests with exceptional service, properly mixed cocktails, and thoughtful modern American fare in a sleek and exciting environment. We are open for lunch and dinner daily!
We are looking for candidates with experience behind the bar in a cocktail forward establishment, and/or high volume full-service restaurant.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Create a welcoming and inviting environment for our guests
Must be detail oriented and take orders correctly and promptly, while using suggestive selling techniques in a high volume environment
Memorizing the menu and recommending appetizers, meals and drinks based on guest preferences
Completing all necessary side work before, after and throughout shifts to ensure smooth sailing of daily restaurant operations
Delivering a memorable dining experience and effectively communicating with management to resolve customer issues promptly
Anticipating the needs of our guests & exceeding their expectations
Adhering to house specs/recipes to ensure a consistent experience for our guests
Preferred qualifications:
Must have knowledge of beer, wine, classic cocktails, and spirits
Must be friendly, outgoing, hard working, and work well as part of a team
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Highly developed interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems
High level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods
Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
Willingness to be constantly learning & tuning craft as a bartender
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
