Join our team as a Substance Abuse/ Mental Health Counselor and make a difference in someone’s life today. You’ll be responsible for providing quality care to clients dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues, guiding them through assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions to support their recovery journey.
Essential Functions:
- Understand various models of addiction and substance-related issues.
- Implement scientifically supported treatment models, recovery plans, and relapse prevention.
- Recognize the role of family, social networks, and community in the treatment process.
- Provide individual, group, family therapy, and other interventions according to treatment plans.
- Perform client screenings and assessments, maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Work with case managers to coordinate services for clients and handle crisis situations effectively.
- Participate in mandatory training and work across shifts to ensure coverage.
- Ensure personal and client safety, adhering to all safety policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a related field (required); licensure preferred.
- Proficiency in report writing and understanding of English.
- Must meet clinical documentation requirements and follow FCA 65-D-30 standards.
